The Role

We're looking for a staff accountant who's ready to take ownership of the numbers. You'll run the monthly close, keep the books clean, and produce reporting that stands up when someone checks it. It's a hands-on role for someone early in their career who wants real responsibility and room to grow.

This is an execution-first accounting job. Day to day, you'll own the month-end close, keep the books accurate and current, and put together the reporting the team relies on to make decisions. You'll also pitch in on tax filings, regulatory work, and audits.

We'd rather hand you a process and trust the output than double-check every entry, so we want someone who takes the accounting seriously and gets the details right. Do that well and the role grows toward Controller over time.

Responsibilities

• Month-End Close & Bookkeeping — You'll own the monthly close from start to finish and keep the books clean along the way: categorizing transactions correctly the first time, reconciling accounts, and getting the numbers ready without anyone needing a second pass.
• Reporting — You'll build reporting that runs the same way every month and assemble the financial package the team uses to make decisions. Strong Excel skills matter here, and if you're comfortable using AI tools to handle the repetitive parts, even better.
• Tax, Regulatory & Audit Support — You'll support tax and regulatory filings and play a real part in audits. When an auditor asks why something is booked a certain way, you should be able to explain it and point to the accounting standard behind it.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting degree with strong fundamentals
• 1-4 years of accounting experience
• You've got solid accounting fundamentals and you like that side of the work. You know GAAP well enough to apply it on your own, so when a new situation comes up you can figure out the right treatment and bring a recommendation instead of a question.
• You're someone who executes. Give you the close and you run it. You look for ways to turn repetitive work into a process, and you know your way around Excel.
• You're early in your career and eager to learn. You're comfortable moving quickly in a startup, where getting things right and on time can matter more than chasing a number to the last cent, as long as the books stay trustworthy.

Nice to Have

• Big Four experience (PwC, banking or capital markets, a plus)
• Some startup experience
• A CPA, or the goal of earning one — we're happy to support you through it
