we checked 866 crypto jobs. the salary depends on one thing: whether the job is in the US.

Snapshot of October 13 to 31, 2026: 866 crypto jobs at 156 companies. US jobs show the salary in 62% of posts, jobs elsewhere in 5%.

crypto has no borders. crypto salaries do.

we looked at every job published on our board from October 13 to 31. 866 jobs, 156 companies.

jobs based in the US: 310. the salary is in the post in 62% of them. jobs based anywhere else: 462. the salary is in the post in 5%.

that's 193 US jobs with a number. and 24 for the whole rest of the world.

same companies, two results

this isn't a few small teams being shy. it's the biggest names in the industry. per our count:

41 companies hired both in the US and outside it. not all of them split like this: Stripe, for example, showed no salary anywhere (0 of 19). but the biggest names above did.

what you get instead

"competitive".

165 jobs outside the US with no salary say "competitive salary", "competitive compensation" or "competitive package" instead.

OKX in London and Malta: "we offer a competitive base salary and bonus structure". OKX in New York: the same sentence. and then the number.

why

a big part of it is the law.

several US states (California, New York, Colorado, Washington and others) make companies put a pay range in the job post.

in the EU a new rule says candidates must get the range before the first interview at the latest. but most countries haven't turned it into law yet. so for now the US is where it's enforced.

4 in 10 "remote" jobs are US-only

355 jobs said remote. 139 of them only hire in the US. that's 39%.

the biggest ones: Coinbase (30 US-only remote jobs), Circle (21), TRM Labs, Chainlink Labs (9 each), Kraken (8).

what this means if you're not in the US

a number almost certainly exists. it's just not in the post.

the US posts at least show what these companies pay for jobs based in the US. the median of those ranges: about $195k a year. half of them sit between $157k and $227k.

that's what they pay for US jobs, not what you'd get elsewhere.

your offer will not be the same number. taxes, cost of living, and the company's own rules change it. but now you know what "competitive" looks like on the other side.

ask for the range on the first call, before you spend time on tasks look up the same company's US posts for the same kind of role if they won't give a number at all, that's an answer too

who shows it anyway

Lightspark and Augustus showed the salary in every job, US or not (3 jobs each). BVNK did in 5 of 12 jobs outside the US.

so it's possible. most don't.

are you outside the US? did a recruiter ever give you a range on the first call?
